About this deal

The things I really enjoyed about the story was the strong bond between Harriet and her friends that has lasted long after their school days.

i am constantly overwhelmed with how she can take the most deepest inner emotions of a person and articulate it in a way that is so relatable it makes the reader feel seen. Only this year, Harriet and Wyn are lying through their teeth while trying not to notice how desperately they still want each other. Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple - they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Blur[s] the lines between women’s and literary-leaning commercial fiction, departing from the fantasy spaces of bodice rippers and misty moors to depict a world that looks a lot more like, well, our own…Henry operates at the top of her—and her readers’—intelligence, telling sophisticated, heartfelt stories that are conscious of the romantic comedy conventions without being overly meta about them…Henry’s dedicated readers know what to expect: wit, charm and heart, satisfying to the last page.

También vemos cómo Harriet conoce a Sabrina y Cleo, luego a Wyn y, como se vuelven los mejores amigos y cómo pasan una década juntos volviéndose como una familia. this story explores heavy topics, it’s filled with love and loss, grief, hurt, trauma, change, happiness and unhappiness + friendships and family; this book was more melancholy, thoughtful and deep—this is ultimately why i loved it sm! Both, Harriet and Wyn made a lot of assumptions instead of actually talk to each other, which could have spared us from a 400 pages book. As someone who graduated college a few years ago, has felt the sadness of friends moving away and drifting apart, and looked back on my own happy place moments that feel too far in the past, this book HIT. Harriet is adamant about telling them at their special union in Happy Place, but she realizes that Sabrina already invited Wyn to their cottage, and Wyn acts like they're still together.

The tension between preserving the past/tradition and moving forward to new experiences is well explored, as well as the extent to which someone should compromise within their relationship. we also become immersed in wyn and harriet’s past relationship and we are taken back to how they first met and fell in love. If it was possible to stop loving you, I would have managed it in that first year of desperately trying to. there’s this unique connection i get from emily henry’s writing style that at this point should be studied. i’m sure i forgot something and i’ll definitely come update this but at the end of it i do still love emily henry as an author and i will continue to read whatever she publishes.she was never taught how to fight with the ones she loves and that took a toll on the way she communicates in relationships. It’s nice to have a friendship that can carry on with people taking different paths and not seeing as much of each other. I've worked so fucking hard on myself these last five months, Harriet, and I'm doing well" up until this point I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, I told myself that he was probably as miserable but this was the 4th time he asked if she's happy TOO.

This sexy and profoundly romantic novel will satisfy fans of best-selling Henry’s thrilling trademark mix of witty banter and intensely emotional storylines. Harriet hasn't told them her and her fiance Wyn have broken up, so when she arrives to find Wyn there, acting like nothing has happened, it throws her for a minute. I did find myself wishing that Harriett would stand up for herself a bit more though and I also felt the issues her friends had hindered the story. She is entirely relatable; she is riddled with self-doubt and I appreciated her struggle to please those around her and form herself into what she thought the people she loved needed her to be while sacrificing her own wants and desires.

this book isn’t for people who only want to read about romance, it’s also mostly about friendship and i thought it was such a beautiful aspect in this book.
